Basic H2 Super Organic Concentrate! 1001 uses!!!

I have been told there are 1001 uses for Shaklee's Basic H2 super cleaning concentrate. I know there are many so I thought I would share a list here. If you have more, please share them in the comments! There are several off label uses to Basic H2 but I will cover the main uses here.

If you are not familiar, Basic H2 is like the BEST house hold cleaner on the planet. (In my opinion!!) My parents have been using it since 1975! I think every house hold should have a bottle of this in their house! Especially if you have young children.

It was the very first biodegradable cleaner made and is over 50 years old! It was the first Earth Day product in 1970 and has been "Green" since the beginning, even before people cared about pollution!

Why do I love Basic H2 (and all of Shaklee's Get Clean Cleaners for that matter)?

Because Shaklee Get Clean cleaners are completely safe for my family and the environment. And when I say safe, I mean, if your child or pet accidentally ingested these products, it would not be fatal to them. Or even require a trip the ER! Basic H2 is made from corn and coconut and is completely safe. No toxic fumes what so ever!!! Which means no more headache when cleaning or dry and cracked skin after. You can throw your cleaning gloves away! I have a good friend who is very allergic to nuts, including coconut. But she uses Basic H2 with no problem at all.

Another reason why I love Shaklee's Basic H2 and the other Get Clean cleaners: They are cheap!!! Many people think that green cleaners or organic cleaners means expensive. But with Shaklee, that really is not the case!

One bottle of Basic H2 equals 5824 bottles of the leading window/glass cleaner!!!! Talk about saving money! Basic H2 costs less then a penny per GALLON when you use it as a window cleaner! And it cleans my mirrors and windows better then anything I have ever tried.

Why is it so cheap? Shaklee does not ship water to you. We just send you the cleaning concentrate and you provide your own water. So when you fill a spray bottle with 16 oz of water, you just add 1-2 DROPS of Basic H2 for an awesome window/glass/mirror cleaner!

All purpose cleaning requires 1/4 tsp of H2 to 16 oz of water!

So you get the idea of why it's so cost-effective.

We use Basic H2 every day for different things in the house and it has not once caused any respiratory issues for my 3 year old preemie who was predicted to have asthma. He is a healthy growing little boy who loves to help me clean!

And one of my most favorite reasons for loving Basic H2 is the Many, Many great uses! Here is a short list:

Basic H2 cleans so well that bacteria can't grow. It restores PH and is safe on your skin. And it works!!! Shaklee cleaners work so well! I have written several posts with before and after pics so be sure to search those on my blog.

So THAT is why I truly love this product and think everyone should have a bottle in their home! My very first blog was on how my family de-toxed our home and went from 20 plus cleaners to just THREE shaklee cleaners! you can read that HERE.

Thanks for taking the time to read. If this is interesting to you and you would like to try Shaklee's Basic H2 or other products please contact me for more info and some great specials I have going right now too. Or contact the person who shared this post with you.

Thanks and have a fantastic day!!

Earth Day Special for April!

It has been way too long for me to post! So sorry. Life has gotten a lot busier with our upcoming move to Mississippi in May! Easter was busy too with my church choir. But I didn't want to miss posting to share with you the great Earth Day special for you!!! This special ends April 30!

When new or current Shaklee members in my group order a Shaklee Get Clean Starter Kit from me, I will give you a FREE Scour off Heavy duty paste! (note the link to the starter kit is with our regular scent laundry detergent. Also comes in a fragrance free)

I have posted about Shaklee cleaners before so you can read HERE how I de-toxed my home and now only use 3 cleaners for the entire thing!

I grew up with Shaklee products as my parents have been using their cleaners and whole-food supplements since 1975! I love using them with my own young family as they are completely safe, work really well and save us money because they are so concentrated! See this cost comparison to understand the value you are getting.

Shaklee's Basic H organic concentrate cleaner was the first Earth Day product in 1970. This is a great product because it works on so many different things (windows, counters, floors, cars, stains, rinse aide in the dishwasher, bug spray, cleaning produce, etc)

Shaklee cleaners are so safe that if your little ones or pets got into them, they would not harm them.

Our scour off paste (you know, the free product with a Get clean kit) will last you 1-3 years! And it is great for any heavy duty scouring cleaning like ovens, stoves, showers, tubs, grime, etc. It is made of cherry pits and smells so good!

None of Shaklee cleaners will burn your nose hairs off. Good to know, right! You can throw away your cleaning gloves and masks to clean with. You will not need them as our cleaners are so safe, even on your skin and in your lungs.

A starter kit gives you everything you need and has the equivalent of $3400 in conventional cleaners you would find at any store!! That is some great savings for your wallet as well as the earth!

To take advantage of this great Earth Day special, you can shop at my site HERE. Add the Get Clean Starter kit to your cart as well as the scour off heavy duty paste and anything else that catches your eye. And don't forget to add your Shaklee membership (19.95) so you can get this deal with me if you aren't already a member or distributor in my group. This is a lifetime membership that will give you 15% off of this order and any order in the future! There are no minimum requirements or annual fees with Shaklee membership so it is a great deal and my group offers other nice perks along the way too.

Offer good today through April 30, 2014

Thanks for checking in and be sure to contact me with questions! Thanks and have a wonderful week!!

Natural Fabreeze

I came across a recipe for a natural fabreeze awhile back and decided to make it last night to help freshen up my boy's bathroom a bit. I clean all of our bathrooms with a safe germicide from Shaklee called Basic G. It is safe and cleans and disinfects well. But my little one's bathroom needed a bit more freshness so I made this natural fabreeze. It worked really well, smells really nice and is safe and healthy for my family, including my youngest who was born with lung disease and we have to be more careful with. And it was quite simple to make. It took me only a few minutes to put together.

Recipe:

16 oz water in a sprayer
2 tsp Shaklee's Soft Fabric Concentrate (makes your clothes smell really nice in the laundry too without the harsh chemicals!)
a pinch of baking soda
shake and spray!

That's it! It works great for pet odor too!

Thanks for stopping in. Visit me on Facebook soon!

Have a great day:)

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 Get Clean!

It has been a lot of fun sharing our 12 Days of Christmas Specials with you! As you may know, I grew up with Shaklee and specifically the wonderful and non-toxic cleaners. I got away from Shaklee when I went to college and started using the products again a few years ago when I became a mom. The cleaners really impressed me because I was looking for something safe and non-toxic around my young son, that also would not break the bank. Shaklee was the perfect fit!

On the 5th Day of Christmas, Waterways gave to me a FREE SCOUR OFF when you order a Get Clean Starter kit from Shaklee!!

Shaklee has been a green company before it was popular. In fact, our signature cleaner, Basic H2 has been around for over 50 years and was the first earth day product in 1970!

Your Get Clean Starter kit gives you so much cleaning power at a fraction of the cost you would spend with all of this...

If you are looking to get rid of toxic chemicals from your house for good, then the Shaklee Get Clean Starter kit has everything you need for your household cleaners, laundry and dish detergents! And it's so cost effective and the products will last you a long time!!!

The Scour Off paste that I am giving you for free when you order a Get Clean start kit is one of my favorite cleaners for the stove top, oven, shower, tub…basically anything you need a heavy duty cleaner for. It's made of cherry pits and smells so good! One of these will last you 1-3 years!!

All of Shaklee cleaners, from household cleaners to laundry and dish detergents, are completely safe for you, safe for your family and the environment! And they go a long way as they are so concentrated. And - THEY WORK!!!! Really well! And your Get Clean starter kit has them all! :)

Check out This Post I wrote a few years ago about how my family detoxed our home and went from 20 toxic cleaners to only 3 non-toxic cleaners for our entire house!!!

My youngest son, Benjamin, was born 3 years ago 6 weeks premature. He had terrible lung disease, was on a ventilator for the first week of his life to breathe. We were told he would be asthmatic and when he got a cold there was a good chance it would turn into something more like bronchitis, RSV or pneumonia. I am very happy to say that Benjamin is a very healthy little boy! He had one bought of pneumonia at 13 months and his doctor said he was surprised that wasn't a regular occurrence from his early history. His pulmonologist at Riley Children's hospital, who we were seeing fairly regularly, was shocked that he is not asthmatic and said we didn't have to continue to see her. We are very thankful to Shaklee non-toxic cleaners and their wonderful children's supplements to help prevent illness for our son.

Shaklee cleaners are so safe that if someone accidentally ingests them, it will not be fatal or even send you to the ER! Anyone can throw chemicals together to clean something, but how safe is that for you? Shaklee cleans and is safe too. Love this!

Take a look at this quick video to learn more about how these cleaners are a great choice for your family.

Thanks for taking a look today. Please share and refer a friend to receive your thank you gift from me!

You can start your Get Clean shopping HERE now to detox your home for good and make it a very safe place for your entire family. We have 2 great Get Clean starter kits to choose from to get your Scour off for Free! (note the mini kits and healthy home kit will not work with this special) Contact me before ordering so I can set you up or order your Scour Off and receive a rebate.

Our Shaklee specials are available to all Waterways customers, members or distributors or new people to shaklee. Talk to your shaklee distributor about matching our deals.

This offer ends Dec. 20, 2013!

Have a great day!!

Natural Cleaning Part 5 - Dish Detergents

We've made it to the 5th and final Natural Cleaning post - Dish Detergents!

The last few weeks I have shared how I clean my house naturally.

Part 1 was about my favorite household cleaner.

Part 2 was about my favorite scouring cleaner.

Part 3 was about my favorite germicide.
Part 4 was about my favorite Laundry products.

My husband and I de-toxed our home a few years ago and now use only three non-toxic cleaners for the whole house! It's so great to reduce and not worry!

So today it's Dishes!

Who likes to do dishes? Yeah, me neither. But of course we all have dishes to do. Unless you can afford to have someone do them for you. Or have a really great spouse or roommate who does them all of the time. Wow, wouldn't that be nice?

If you have read my past posts, then you can probably guess that I use Shaklee's dish detergents. Shaklee is the #1 natural nutrition company in the US and something I have known about all of my life as my parents have been using their products for 37 years now! The dish detergents are wonderful and like the other products I talked about, very concentrated so good for the budget too.

I love the Dish Washer Automatic Powder Concentrate. It works really well. You only need 1 scoop (2 tsp.) in the dispenser cup. In hard water areas you may need more unless you have a softener.

Cleaning Credentials:

Natural
Concentrated
Biodegradable Surfactants
No Phosphates
No Chlorine

So it is complete safe for you, your family and also the environment! Love it!

Side note: Once a month or so, I add a little straight Basic H2 Organic Super cleaning concentrate into the rinse aide in my dishwasher. This helps to sparkle up my glasses beautifully!

For doing dishes by hand, I love the Hand Dish Wash Liquid Concentrate. This is a pretty amazing product as you only need a few drops per sink load and maybe a drop or so on your sponge per dish. I use this awesome and washable microfiber sponge. They say it's an exercise in restraint and it is if you are used to a ton of suds. I know many people feel that suds equal clean. But that really isn't the case. Too many suds can actually be bad for your pipes (both in the kitchen and laundry room). I like to put about a tablespoon per cup of water into a foaming bottle. Works great!

I love the light fresh scent of this product. And it is so gentle on my sensitive skin.  My parents have been using it for 37 years in their house that does not have a dishwasher! I know, I can't even imagine not having a dish washer!! So they use this product every day and do you know that they have only had a plumber to the house one time?! It is a degreaser so it will keep your pipes clean. No more use for toxic drain cleaners. Awesome!!

Cleaning Credentials:

Nontoxic
Natural
Hypoallergenic
Biodegradable surfactants
No Phosphates

Like all of Shaklee's products, these come with a 100% money back guarantee. And members or distributors save at least an additional 15% always. If you are interested in any of the cleaners, you may want to take a look at the various Get Clean Kits. You would spend $3400 with other cleaning products to get the same amount of clean with the Get Clean Starter Kit because the products are so concentrated!!

Thanks for checking in. I hope these posts have been useful to you. Stop by and visit me on Facebook soon!

Have a great day!

Natural Clean Part 4: Laundry

The last few weeks I have shared how I clean my house naturally.
Part 1 was about my favorite household cleaner.
Part 2 was about my favorite scouring cleaner.
Part 3 was about my favorite germicide.

My husband and I de-toxed our home a few years ago and now use only the above three non-toxic cleaners for the whole house! It's so great to reduce and not worry!

Today I want to talk laundry. This is something we all have to deal with. Some more then others depending on your family size.

I try to do at least one load per day and usually always have more that could be done. I save towels and sheets for the weekends.

What brand do we use that is safe, natural and effective for my family's laundry needs? Shaklee! No surprise, right? lol. We truly love the Get Clean laundry products. They are safe for my young kids, safe for the environment, concentrated, and work really well!

Have you ever been around someone who smells like "fresh laundry"? You can just smell their clothes the second the walk in the room? Maybe that someone is you? And maybe you mistake that smell with clean. But did you know that the fresh scent you smell is actually chemicals? Chemicals that can be harmful to you and your family. The real smell of clean actually doesn't have a scent at all!

To be honest, I didn't really think about these things until I became a mom 4 years ago. Babies skin is super sensitive. Their clothing, their bedding, their toys...anything washable can leach these chemicals onto their delicate skin. Babies immune systems are immature. This makes it difficult for them to detoxify, metabolize or get rid of chemicals in their body. It also takes time for children to develop the barrier protecting their brain from chemical exposure.

All of this made me search for a company and products that I trust. Little did I know that what I was looking for was right under my nose my entire life as my mom has been using Shaklee cleaners and supplements for 37 years now! I really never paid attention to their quality until my son was born. Shaklee's cleaners fit our needs perfectly. Here are the laundry products we use and love....

Fresh Laundry Concentrate (powder or liquid)

My family has used both. The liquid is better for HE machines but we don't have one yet. So either works for us just fine. I have super sensitive skin and have contact dermatitis, which means my skin breaks out in an itchy rash or eczema after coming in contact with chemically scented laundry, lotions, etc. After switching to Shaklee's detergents, my skin irritation issues have disappeared. They reappear anytime we are away from home and sleep somewhere that does not use Shaklee's cleaners. Both come in a light fresh scent or fragrance-free. There is a pump that you can get for the liquid which is awesome because it measures it out perfectly for you. You just need 1-2 oz. depending on the size of the load.
I love using the detergents with my son's cloth diapers. We have been using cloth for 2 years now and the diapers still look new! Once in awhile I do a deep cleaning on them with the Nature Bright (listed below) and the germicide Basic G germicide that I talked about in my Part 3 post for deodorizing. Works great!

Cleaning Credentials:
  • Biodegradable Surfactants
  • Concentrated
  • Hypoallergenic
  • No phosphates
  • No chlorine

I went back into my archives for a good picture of how well the Shaklee detergent works. My son will probably hate me for posting these when he is a teenager. But since he's just 2, I thought I would share.:) Warning: this isn't going to be pretty!

Here is a before picture of a diaper explosion when my son was a baby.

And the after picture. I sprayed it with Basic H2 and then I washed it in the liquid detergent because it also has a stain fighter in it. It worked beautifully! The Nature Bright, which I will talk about next, would also work well in this situation. :)

Every mother's BFF. This is an awesome and safe alternative to bleach. Chlorine, which is in bleach, can cause damage to eyes, skin and other membranes. The Clean Air Act listed it as a hazardous pollutant in 1990 and it is among the top cause of accidental poisonings among children.

Nature Bright is a safe alternative to bleach. It whitens whites and brightens colors beautifully. Perfect for diaper explosions, grass stains, and other difficult stains. It outperformed Oxiclean in removing grass stains! Love, love, love this product!!

We recently took this old blanket on a cabin trip and used it outside for a picnic with 5 young children ages 7-1. You can guess that it got pretty messy! It was hard to capture good pictures of this but here is the before picture when we returned from the cabin. There are some BBQ beans stained in the middle area.

And here is the after. I sprayed the stains with Basic H2. I keep this in my laundry room as it also is a great stain remover.  I soaked the blanket with Nature Bright and washed with the Powder Detergent. It looks brand new again. Considering this blanket is probably about 25 years old, that is saying a lot! lol The stains are completely gone and the blanket looks a few shades whiter.

I love how this helps to reduce wrinkles and prevent static cling. It is really concentrated and has a light fresh scent.  Because of my skin issues that developed in college, I could no longer use fabric softeners or dryer sheets. Until I tried Shaklee's! Awesome!! This is another one that you can get a pump for to measure perfectly. Love that!

These are so cool - they are veggie based and completely biodegradable. So recycle after you use them! You cannot do this with the leading brand's dryer sheets. I love how they soften clothes while reducing static cling.

So that does it for another cleaning post. I hope the information has been useful to you. I love these cleaners so much that I can't help but share them! Which products would help with your family's laundry issues?

Please be sure to visit me on Facebook soon!

Thanks for reading:)

How I clean my House Naturally Part 3: Basic G

Hello and welcome to another post about how I clean my house naturally! Two weeks ago I shared about the awesome Basic H2 super organic concentrate. And last week talked about Scour Off paste. I only use THREE products to clean my entire house so I am concluding the trio with....

This is a germicide that I mix the same as the Basic H2 general purpose cleaner. Just 1/4 tsp of the Basic G into a 16 oz sprayer of water to clean really germy stuff like the toilet, bathroom floor, garbage can, diaper pail, after cutting raw meat, potty training accidents, etc. I have customers who use it to clean the cat litter box. About once a month I use a little of the straight concentrate as a toilet bowl cleaner. When needed, I add a little of Basic G when washing my son's cloth diapers. It cleans, disinfects and deodorizes without giving me a headache! Awesome!!

Basic G is very economical - 1 quart of Basic G makes 64 GALLONS of cleaner! Wow! And it is EPA registered.

I also love the Germ Off Disinfecting wipes for quick wipe downs in the bathroom, to disinfect toys, etc.

I recently received feedback from a customer who ordered the Basic G and Basic H2 from a distributor in my group. Here is what she said....

"I'm still loving my cleaning products. I find now that the scent of regular cleaners are incredible overwhelming. I'm also thrilled with how well they clean, and how much cleaner my house is in general since I can use the basic H everywhere. It really makes a difference when I only have to drag out one cleaner. Also, I love the basic G. It does a great job. I'm really thrilled with my Shaklee products. Thanks for checking in!"

Shaklee is the #1 natural nutrition company in the US and was started over 50 years ago as a family based business. I have known about Shaklee products all of my life as my mom has been using the cleaners and supplements for 37 years now! I really got back into using these wonderful products a few years ago when my husband and I had our first child. We wanted safe but effective cleaners for our house. Shaklee was the perfect fit for what we were seeking. After sharing the cleaners with other mom friends, I decided to become a distributor to earn bonus checks simply for doing what I was already doing - sharing products I love! My mom has been doing the same thing in her retirement and recently became a Director in Shaklee! It's a great way to help people and earn while you do it. You can read more about my Shaklee story HERE and the fun time my mom and I had at Shaklee's global conference recently HERE.

If you are open to hearing more about the awesome earnings and benefits plan, please contact me. I am looking for more motivated business partners on my growing team. :)

Thanks for checking in. please check in on my facebook page for daily updates, health and wellness info and tips.

Have a wonderful week! :)

How I Clean my House Naturally - Part 2: Scour Off

Welcome to part 2 of my cleaning posts! Last week I talked about how I love to clean my house with my favorite non-toxic cleaner, Basic H2.
Today I will talk about Scour Off Heavy Duty Paste!

Non-toxic, Natural Abrasives, No harsh chemicals, Biodegradable Surfactants, No Phosphates

I talked about Scour Off in my first blog post how I detoxed our home and now use only 3 safe products to clean it through Shaklee. I grew up with Shaklee products and supplements as my mom has been using and trusting them for over 37 years now! I am thankful to have them, now that I am a mom too.

Uses of Scour Off:

Scour Off is so great for tough jobs like the oven, stove top, shower, tub, sinks, pots and pans, removes rust and tar off chrome of car, white wall tires, counter tops, corning ware cook tops, oven proof glass, stainless steel, grout, marks off walls and floors (test first) and more!

It's made from cherry pits so I don't get a headache when I use it. It actually smells really nice. One small container lasts for 1-2 years because you use so little of it to do so much.

To use, put a little Scour Off on your sponge (I love using my microfiber sponge with this) and a lot of water.

Here are some before and after pictures of how I have used it.

This is the before of my greasy oven door.

And the after picture using Scour Off and Basic H2. I love how it shines and you can see me taking the picture in the reflection:)

I have several pictures of my stove top. This was one of the worst messes! Boiled over cranberries!

And after using Scour Off, my microfiber sponge and a lot of water.

Another creation by my little artist - crayon on a cutting board.

And after using the Scour Off, microfiber sponge and water. Easy clean up. Basic H2 also works well with crayon.

I accidentally wrote with permanent marker on our wipe board! The Basic H2 smeared it.

But the Scour Off removed it!

Some rust from a can on my counter top.

Was no match for Scour Off!  Whew!!

And a sticker on our fireplace glass door.

Came off with Scour Off!

Thanks for reading! I hope this post was useful. Keep an eye out for the next post in my cleaning series...:)

If you enjoy my posts, please follow me on my facebook page for more cleaning and healthy living tips.

Have a great week!
