I am really excited to have started a YouTube channel. I wanted to start this to share useful information with you!

The first video I put up is talking about my favorite Get Clean green cleaner Basic H2 organic concentrate from Shaklee, the #1 natural nutrition company in the US. I grew up with Shaklee and now love using these safe, economical and effective cleaners with my young family.

Each video features my 4 year old, who really wanted to be on the videos with me:)

This time my son and I are sharing Shaklee's awesome scouring cleaner Scour Off paste. I show you a quick demo of how I took the tarnish off a penny! Take a look and enjoy my little guy's sense of humor on this one.:)

What do you think? I would love your feedback and I am looking forward to sharing more videos with you soon! Stay tuned by following my You Tube channel:)

This week we are talking about organizing a move. How many times have you moved in your lifetime so far? I lived in the same house in Wisconsin up until I was 18 and went to college. During college I moved every year, then moved to Madison during my year off, then again to Iowa for grad school. After that I moved to California for my internship, moved again to my apartment once I got a job, moved again when I got married, then moved to San Diego for 2 years and then finally to our home in Indiana where we have stayed put for the last 4 years! Wow! I am exhausted just thinking about all of that and thankful I don't have a move coming up anytime soon. Moving can be overwhelming. Keeping your move organized helps a lot!

This Week's Goals:
1. Start sorting! Do this as soon as you decide you are moving. Don't procrastinate (coming from a true procrastinator who has been there!). Get rid of things you don't use, don't like, doesn't fit...anything you have not used in the last year is usually a good indication that you won't miss it. You can donate, throw out or sell.
We sold a ton of things on craigslist and gave a bunch to Goodwill when we moved from CA to IN. A big motivator was we didn't want to pay a moving company to haul our crap stuff across the country!  Even then we ended up having a big garage sale when we moved into our home in IN because we realized much of what we had just didn't work in our new place. lol
2. Do your packing one room at a time. Be sure to label your boxes well. Pack heavy things in smaller boxes and lighter things in larger boxes. Use wardrobe boxes for your clothing. Makes it so much easier to just put it right into your new closet.
3. Selling your home? Take out the personal stuff like pictures and knick knacks. You want the potential buyer to see themselves living there. Less is more and will make the rooms seem bigger if they are not cluttery.
4. Find an empty room to put all boxes in once you have moved. Unpack one at a time so it's not overwhelming. If your boxes are labeled well, this will make it go smoother and less stress to unpack.
5. Recycle your boxes. Give them to a friend or a local moving company.
Tips:
1. Consider having a garage sale BEFORE you move. (Don't wait till after like I did. lol) Set the date and make a plan for it.
2. Consider getting a moving company to help, even if it's a local move. This will save your back, time and stress level. We have done it both ways and my husband and I agree that if we ever move again we will always hire help! Be sure to call around for quotes and get referrals from friends on reputable movers.
3. See Organize Now for a great Moving Checklist Planner.
What moving tips can you add?
Please visit me on Facebook soon! I would love to hear from you and appreciate your support. :)
Thanks for reading! Have a terrific day!

This week we are organizing our trip. Some of you are probably on a trip right now visiting family for Thanksgiving. This is the busiest travel time of the year. When my husband and I lived in California, we traveled back to the midwest for a few Thanksgivings and it was Crazy!!! We decided after we got married to stay put on Thanksgiving and travel during Christmas time. That was a little more manageable. We really prefer driving to flying now that we have small kids. Anyone else feel this way?

Our last flying excursion with kids was over the summer. We went to see my husband's brother and his family in Connecticut. It was a nice trip but the flying part was tough. It didn't help that I left my WALLET at home (an hour's drive to the airport!). I did learn that it is possible to get through security without an ID. Who knew?! But we ended up coming home that night anyway because our flight kept getting delayed and looked to be canceled. We joked that it would have probably taken the same amount of time to get out there if we had driven. :)

 This Week's Goals:

1. Decide when you will go and how you will get there. If flying, the best days to do that are usually Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Try to book at least three weeks in advance and go for the earlier flights. If they get delayed or canceled you have more options later.

2. Give yourself several weeks if you need a passport. It takes a lot of time to get these and if you need vaccines, you will need more time in case they are administered in a series.

3. Schedule a day to recover at home from your vacation. I used to do this whenever possible when I worked for the state of California. I usually needed that day to regroup, get back on the right time zone, do laundry, etc. It made the transition back to work so much easier.

4. Pack lighter then you think you need. I like to choose outfits that work with the same pair of pants or shorts, so I can easily mix and match. Do this with shoes too. You don't need 10 pairs of shoes for a week long vacation:)

5. Pack as much as possible the day before your trip. Have things at the door or in the car early.

6. Keep your name and contact information on all pieces of luggage both on the outside luggage tags but also inside in case the tags get ripped off.

7. Leave a key with a trusted neighbor. This came in handy for me when I left my wallet at home. I was able to call my neighbor and she was going to FedEx my license to my brother in law's house if need be.

8. Keep an updated packing list for each member of your family on your computer. It will save you time making a new list each time you travel and will help you to not forget anything.

Tips:

1. Traveling with young kids? Be sure to have a goodie bag of toys and snacks ready to go. I like to get a few new things from places like the dollar bin at Target.

2. Write down your credit card info and keep it in a safe place with you when you travel in case your wallet gets lost or stolen. You can call the credit card companies right away to stop the cards.

3. A week before you take your trip, make a big batch of chili or soup and freeze half. You will be thankful to have something home-cooked and healthy when you return from your trip.

How do you organize for your trip?

Thanks for reading! Remember to visit me on Facebook soon and check out the great Small business Saturday specials I will be sharing soon for Nov. 24th!

Have a great Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for today?

Shaklee 180 and Chicago Regional Conference Highlights!

I just got back from Chicago this weekend and had a fabulous time at the Shaklee Regional Conference!!!

It was so great to meet Roger Barnett, the CEO of Shaklee.

Here is a picture of some of the Hoffmann group with Roger. My friend and distributor in my group Cherie drove with me from Indiana. My mom is also with us here and our friends Ginny and Dawn, representing some from Wisconsin. Great time!

You may remember Roger and his wife, Sloan on Oprah talking about Shaklee's awesome green cleaning line Get Clean. Here is the clip if you missed it.

One of Roger's visions is to end malnutrition and for Shaklee to earn a Nobel Peace Prize for it!!

There were three regional conferences happening this weekend and Roger was able to join us in Chicago because we had the most preregistered attendees! It was so great to have him there. It was especially nice for my parents, who are new Shaklee Directors and were honored at a special VIP dinner with Roger on Friday evening. Here they are with him:

I also got to meet and talk with Dr. Jaime McManus, MD. Dr. Jaime is the chair of medical affairs and health sciences and education at Shaklee and she is SO great to talk to! :)

Dr. Jaime talked about the globesity epidemic and how the world is simply getting bigger and bigger!

2 out of 3 Americans need to lose weight.
1 out of 3 will die prematurely.
70-80% of doctor visits are weight related!!

And unfortunately, doctors do not have a ton of education in the nutrition area.

 Science:

Shaklee is known for the quality science backing their natural products. This was the main reason why my dear husband, who is a PharmD, PhD in natural product research at Purdue, was so impressed by the company and willing to give the products a try.

In a 12 week study looking at the Cinch Inch loss program, Cinch helped people to lose fat and retain muscle mass while losing inches.  Another great thing that came from that study was the drop in Cholesterol! The study showed a 20 point drop in cholesterol for the people receiving Cinch. If your Cholesterol is above 200, you are in a dangerous range.

Another study looked at Cinch inch loss products with moderate exercise. This was a 6 month study. Half of the participants did exercise alone. The other half did exercise plus a Cinch Shake daily. The results: weight dropped, lean muscle mass increased and body fat decreased with the group who had the Cinch Shakes!

The last study Dr. Jaime talked about was Cinch plus Vitalizer. It was a 9 month study. There were three groups:

1. placebo who did not exercise or receive any Cinch or Vitalizer
2. Exercise alone
3. Exercise plus Cinch Shake and Vitalizer

Results: group 3 who received Shaklee did better with blood pressure, heart rate and muscle mass. Their bone density improved too. Group 1 actually got worse over the 9 month period by not doing anything.

And our group had a fantastic time learning about the new...

Shaklee 180 Program!!!

This is the exciting Inch Loss program with awesome incentives for everyone that Shaklee is launching in January! I am super excited about it. One of the awesome things about this program is that EVERYone can get their products for

FREE!!!!

It's really easy to do this too! When you use one of the two Shaklee 180 kits and share with 3 friends who use it too, yours is FREE!!!
And theirs could be free also if they share with 3 people, etc.

So great!!!

There are two kits to choose from and each one comes with a FREE Shaklee lifetime Membership!!!:

1. Shaklee 180 Turnaround Kit:
This has everything you need for a complete 180 turnaround in your weight loss journey. Two meals per day and includes your choice of flavors of Smoothie Canisters, Energizing tea, Snack and Meal Bars and the Metabolic Boost!

2. Shaklee 180 Lean & Healthy Kit:
This has everything you need to maintain a healthy weight. Your choice of two Smoothie canisters and also Vitalizer Multi Nutrient Pack!

I am already doing the Cinch equivalent to the Lean & Healthy Kit every day and I LOVE it!!!

If you don't know my weight loss story, you can see it HERE.  Shaklee's inch loss program has helped me get to where I am today with my weight and now I am maintaining with it along with moderate exercise and eating balanced and healthy meals.

Here is my before picture after having 2 children 22 months apart:

And here's my after Cinch transformation picture!

And the really cool thing about Shaklee 180, is that now I am working on my After, After picture! No other inch loss program follows people to the after, after but Shaklee is helping us keep it off for good! I am so excited to show you that picture in the next few months! :)

The products are powered by the amino acid Leucine, which is clinically proven to burn fat while retaining lean muscle mass and losing inches in the process! It is a safe and natural supplement to add to your moderate exercise routine for optimal results and I truly love it. Basically, the shakes and bars are healthy alternatives to food you may already be eating, that have the right amount of protein, carbs and fat your body needs along with the key ingredient Leucine.

For those of you familiar with Cinch, The Shaklee 180 products are very similar with some slight changes to the Protein ingredients. The packaging has changed too and looks great! They are changing the sugar to a mix of pure sugar cane and Stevia and the sugar content will be lower. It continues to have a low glycemic index, which means it will not spike your blood sugar and is an excellent food for people with diabetes.  And the fiber is changing to a blend of soluable and insoluable. I tasted all 4 flavors of smoothies at the conference (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and cafe latte) and they are Fantastic!!! And the 3 in 1 Boost is now becoming Metabolic Boost. Same great benefits of boosting the metabolism and reducing sugar cravings. The vitamins were taken out because you will get enough with the shakes and bars and when you are ready to go to the Lean and Healthy Kit, you will get them through Vitalizer.

One really awesome thing about the Shaklee 180 program is the incentives Shaklee provides you to keep on with your weight loss journey. You can log your progress  and earn points toward rewards like ipads, iphones, exercise balls, weights, videos, etc. And then be entered in to win bigger prizes like a trip for two to the Global Conference (Nashville this August) and to Fashion Capitols of the World like PARIS!!! Get a photo shoot with a world class photographer and a $2000 shopping spree!!!! Yes, Please!!! :)

Can't wait till January?? Well, get started on your after picture right now with CINCH! It's still available and still the best inch loss product line out there right now. And if you order the Cinch Transformation Pak by November 30, 2012 on autoship and keep it on autoship for three consecutive months, your forth month is still absolutely FREE!!!!!

So what are you waiting for? Get a head start on keeping those holiday pounds off Today!!!!

Are you ready to make a 180??

Thanks for reading! Would love to hear from you. Please visit me on Facebook soon and be sure to check out my small business Saturday special there this Saturday, Nov. 24th!!!

Week 44 about Organizing Your Holiday HERE.
This week we are organizing your party! Woo-hoo! Who doesn't love a good party? And this is the time of year when many of us have one or attend at least one.
My first job out of college was a rehabilitation therapist/music therapist at a developmental center for people with developmental disabilities. There was more emphasis on the rehab part, which included party planning on a fairly regular basis for my unit of approx 30 men that I was assigned to. It helped me to get pretty organized with party planning. From choosing the venue, to getting the food catered in (taking in account for special diets), to all of the party supplies and other things like gifts if it was a holiday party, etc. You can imagine that it was pretty exhausting, but also a lot of fun!
Now that I am a mom of small kids, I am party planning again for birthdays. I also host a holiday party for my customers, which is what I am planning for right now:) Jennifer reminds us not to stress the details or small stuff. Your guests will most remember the fun times and good conversation so remember to prepare ahead of time, relax and HAVE FUN!

This Week's Goals:
1. Set the date
2. choose your guest list
3. Choose a venue
4. Plan the menu. Buy as much of the non-perishable items ahead of time or order the food early.
5.   Send out invites. www.punchbowl.com or www.evite.com are pretty popular online choices.
6. Decide on a theme, decorations and favors if you are having them. Again, save yourself time by buying these early.
7. Clean your house the day before if your party is being held there. I have lots of good cleaning tips and natural products that we love in the Get Clean section of my blog.
Tips:
1. RSVP! Be sure to request this so you know how much food to prepare. And be sure to do this when you receive an invite to someone else's party.
There is a handy party check list in the Organize Now book.
Do you have any party planning tips to share? would love to hear!
Thanks for reading. Be sure to visit me on Facebook soon!
And don't forget about the Shaklee FREE SHIPPING holiday offer ending Sunday, November, 18th!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!!
