This week we are talking about the yard and garden area. The yard is the first impression that people have of your home. Jennifer suggests not planting anything that you do not have time to take care of. My husband and I have found that planting perennials helps with the time commitment. Things that come back every year and do not require a lot of maintenance. We just don't have the time to care for things like this right now. And to be honest, I do not have a green thumb. It's not a strong suit of mine. My husband enjoys it but does not have the time right now.

We did plant a wonderful raised bed garden this summer. We loved the raised bed as we did not have as many weeds and got a higher yield from our plants. You can see that in some of my gardening posts.

This Week's Goals:

1. Clean up your yard: toss things that are rusted, broken, dead plants, old decorations, etc. Put out a new welcome mat if yours is old and dingy.

2. clean gutters and downspouts

3. clean windows. We love using Shaklee's Basic H2 for this. It is safe, works extremely well and is really cost-effective.

4. Till the garden

Tips:

1. Tired of raking leaves? Try mowing them with a bagging mower. Takes care of the leaves and makes a great compost for the garden.

2. If you don't have the space for a veggie garden, you can add a plant or two into your flower beds.

I love these tips!!

Thanks for reading. Please visit me on facebook very soon for more health and wellness tips.

Next week we will start the Special Events part of the Organize Now book. First up, Organizing your Holiday. Great timing with Thanksgiving coming soon.

Have a great day!
